DIY Baby Keepsakes Shadow Box

Hello my lovely berries!

Today I want to share with you a way to preserve baby memories. This is a very cute way to turn newborn keepsakes into art. I found that a shadow box is the perfect way to display those newborn treasures. This quick craft is easy to make and you can hang it in the nursery so you and your baby, will never forget just how tiny she/he was. I've already made a shadow box with my daughter's christening outfit. You can check it out here.

Let's make your own baby shadow box in just three steps.

Step 1: Gather your keepsakes
Baby's coming home outfit, the hat they wore in the hospital, name letters, first booties, first pacifier, the hospital ID bracelet, tiny footprints, a tiny diaper, baby's first photo.

Step 2: Buy the supplies
I only needed to buy a frame from Ikea (RIBBA frame, 50x50cm)

Step 3: Put it together
Start by lining your shadow box with scrapbook paper or fabric. Next, start pinning your keepsakes to the board.

Now hang it in your baby's nursery or on a family photo wall where you can pause to treasure those first memories of your newborn.

Hope you'll give this a try. Merry Christmas!

30 Lessons Learned In 30 Years

Happy Friday my lovely berries!
It's my birthday today! I'm turning 30!!! Took some time to reflect on how the past 30 years have gone and what lessons I learned.

1. Self care is so important. Taking care of myself physically, mentally and emotionally.
2. Exercise. Find something that you like to do.
3. Choose who you surround yourself very carefully.
4. Enjoy being by yourself.
5. Learn, grow and improve from hard times.
6. Patience is key. Everything comes to you at the right time.
7. Pick your battles and fight for what matters to you.
8. Find a lesson in everything. Look for good in everything.
9. Try something new before making assumptions. (still struggling with)
10. Go out of your comfort zone, sometimes. You can be brave and scared at the same time.
11. Be the light in the dark. You're going to become more powerful through hard times.
12. Communication, Respect, Trust, Couple Quality Time and Hugs help to build a healthy and successful relationship.
13. Be a good person. Leave anything just a little better than you found it.
14. Take responsibilities. We all make mistakes.
15. Say NO.
16. Always have hope.
17. Do your eyebrows. They frame the eyes and highlight your best features.
18. Learn the difference between feeling appreciated and taken for granted.
19. Travel.
20. You got this. Believe in yourself and cheer yourself up.
21. Don't compare yourself. This is your journey, you don't know the other person's struggle, you only see their highlight.
22. It's going to get better, this is temporary.
23. Do not let other people's opinions get to you. You are in control of yourself, of your actions, of your thoughts, of your emotions. Don't give others power over you. It's a beautiful thing to be different.
24. Give your time, money or energy to help others.
25. Be kind to yourself.
26. Think before you speak, before you react.
27. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. It's always a positive side and a negative side to everything. There's no such thing as perfect in anything.
28. Money isn't everything. Time is more important.
29. Do whatever makes you happy. Take steps everyday toward to a happiest life.
30. Have fun on the journey of life.

My heart is grateful

Happy first day of August!

It's  my birth month. I'm turning thirthy. Wait . . . what? 30??? 30!!! Hmmm, I can't even believe how quickly another decade has gone . . . So looking back, what I'm most filled with is gratitude. As I often say, we should be careful not to focus only on our biggest accomplishments and best moments - you know, the kinds of things most of us share on social media. Those are important, but we should also be sure to love the fullness of our stories. That includes the tough moments we persevered through, the messiness of everyday life and the memories that are still a little bit tender. Though they're difficult, those moments can be some of the most beautiful parts of our lives.
So today, I'm thankful for all of those moments that helped me get to where I am.

11 Years of LOVE

Happy Belated 11 years Anniversary to my sweet husband!

11 years of love, 132 months, 574 weeks, 4018 days, 96.432 hours, almost 5 years in marriage, 2 adresses we call home and one child later . . . Safe to say we're growing old together :)

Today is our Anniversary and I cannot believe it's been eleven years! It's gone by so fast. It seems like we just started dating and yet I can't really remember a time without him by my side. I am so thankful! He is the love of my life, and the only person I'd want to do life with. He gave me the greatest gift, our daughter. I thank God everyday for everything that we have!

#7YearsInGermany

Hello my lovely berries!

Today we are celebrating 7 years of living in Germany. Seven years ago we left our home with the thoughts of living and experiencing a better life.

It's crazy to think that we've said we're going to live here for a maximum one and a half year, and fast forward to seven years later today, still here. Well . . . time flies really fast! I'm glad that I'm dancing through this life with my best friend!

Social Distancing Easter 2020

Happy Easter, my lovely berries!

Ideally, Easter is for going to church and spending time with family and friends. But, this year, things are different. And while we miss doing all of that, we're also very grateful for spending some quality time just the three of us! I'm grateful for our health, for our safe place to call home, for internet, yummy food, our smile and our life together.

Please stay safe and healthy!
